Assam EMRS Admission 2025 Notification
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), Govt of India, has recently announced the opening of five new Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in Assam for the 2025-26 academic session. These schools are dedicated to provide quality education for Tribal Students and other underprivileged children.
The newly established EMRS is located in Kharadhara (Bajali), Ardopur (Dima Haso), Jalah (Baksa), Jonai (Dhemaji), and Howraghat (Karbi Anglong). Each EMRS school will offer 60 seats (Sections A & B) for admission to Class VI, with selection based on an entrance examination scheduled for 30 March 2025.
Admission to Eklavya Model Residential School is made through district-level competitive examination and the tribal children are admitted at class 6 level. Candidates should have qualified Class V from a Govt recogized schools in order to be eligible for admission. Parents or guardians seeking admission to EMRS School can apply through the official website https://avs.assam.gov.in from 07 March 2025 to 17 March 2025.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must have completed class V in 2025
- Must be permanent residents of Assam.
- Must be classified as a Scheduled Tribe Community
- Age: 10 to 13 years as of 31 March 2025.
- Family’s annual income must not exceed Rs. 5 lakh.
