Karigaon Welcome Gate: A new welcome gate has been successfully constructed at the Karigaon T-Junction on National Highway 31, marking both the entry and exit point to Kokrajhar town, in the heart of Bodoland. Karigaon Welcome Gate
Karigaon has undergone a major transformation with the completion of the Karigaon Welcome Gate, a significant landmark at the entry point to Kokrajhar town. The construction began after the foundation stone was laid on 5 July 2024 by the BTR government, and the project has now been fully completed, giving the area a fresh, modern, and welcoming look.
As per the tender issued by the BTR Public Works Department (PWD), the total cost of the project was Rs.1.81 crore, according to several online sources. The newly completed welcome gate not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the region but also stands as a symbolic gateway to the heart of Bodoland, reflecting its culture, peace, and progress.
The inauguration of the newly constructed welcome gate at Karigaon is scheduled to take place soon, marking a proud moment for the region and officially opening the gateway to Kokrajhar town.
Foundation Stone
The foundation stone of Karigaon welcome gate was inaugurated by the BTR CEM Pramod Boro on 5 July 2024 in the august presence of BTR Deputy chief, MLA, and other government officials.
