Bir Chilagang Basumatary Biography
Bir Chilagang Basumatary was born on February 1, 1959, in Bongshigaon, Kokrajhar district, Assam. He started the Bodo Liberation Tigers (BLT) and was its first chairman. He led the group in a fight for a separate Bodoland state in India to protect the identity and rights of the Bodo people.
He was known for his thoughtful leadership and worked hard to build the Bodo nation. He inspired many people to join the movement.
