1. Celebrating Year of Books in a Befitting Manner
The Assam Cabinet has approved the following programmes as a part of the celebration of 2025 as year of books-
- Financial Support of Rs. 25,000 each to 1,000 young writers
- Financial Support of Rs. 5 Lakh in district and Rs. 2.5 Lakh in co-district for organising Book fairs
- One Time Grant of Rs.1000 each to State Govt Employees for purchasing books
- Books, alongside Gamusa to be presented as a official gifts at Governtment Functions
- Govt. of Assam will be publish a book on Late Dr. Bhupen Hazarika and distribute the same to eminent personalities and institutions of the state across the country
2. Boosting Investment
The Assam Cabinet has approved customised incentives to 4 companies under IIPA 2019 who will make combined investment of Rs. 1,843 cr and around 850 direct jobs to be created.
3. Reorganisation of Development Blocks
The Assam Cabinet has approved the re-oganization and renaming of development blocks in Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Tamulpur & Udalguri.
- A new Gobardhana Development Block created in Baksa and a total of 23 development blocks in BTR now.
4. Allocations under Mission Basundhara 3.0
The Assam Cabinet has appoved the following under Mission Basundhara 3.0-
- Conversion of Annual Patta to Periodic Patta for 189 applicants in 8 districts.
- Land allocation for 7 Central & State Govt infra projects in 5 districts.
- Conversion of 262 tea grant lands to periodic patta in 3 districts.
- Allotment of 155 lands to non-individual juridical entities in 11 districts.
- Ownership rights to 5 occupancy tenants in erstwhile rural lands in Kamrup.
5. Enhancement of Ration Allowance
The Assam Cabinet has appoved the enhancement of monthly ration allowance to the Assam Forest Potection Force and Frontline Staff of wildlife wing from Rs. 2000 per month to Rs. 2,500 per month.
6. Filip to Scientific Temperament
The Assam Cabinet has appoved Rs. 178cr for construction of 6 District Science Centres cum Planetariums in Majuli, Diphu, Kaliabor, Silchar, Amingaon, and Bongaigaon.
7. Good News for Anganwadi Helpers
The Assam Cabinet has appoved the increasing of upper age limit for promotion from Anganwadi Helper (AWH) to Anganwadi Worker (AWW) increased from 45 to 50 years.
