Assam VFA Training Course Admission 2025: The Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Assam, has officially announced the admission notification for 1 year Veterinary Field Assistant (VFA) Training Course in Elementary Knowledge of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science for the academic session 2024–25.

The training will be conducted at the School of Veterinary Science & A.H, Ghungoor, Silchar, along with its extended campuses across Assam. A total of 200 seats are available for this specialized course. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary (12th) in Science stream with Biology as one of the subjects from a recognized board or council.

Age Criteria (as on 01/01/2025)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 30 years

Relaxation in Upper Age Limit:

• OBC/MOBC: Up to 3 years
• SC/ST (P)/ST (H): Up to 5 years

Selection Process for Assam VFA Training Course Admission 2025

The selection of candidates for admission into the 1 year Veterinary Field Assistant (VFA) Training Course is conducted in accordance with the guidelines approved by the Govt of Assam.

1. Personnel Assessment Test (PAT)

Eligible candidates are invited to appear in the Personnel Assessment Test (PAT), which carries 100 marks in total. The final selection score is calculated based on the following components:

• HSSLC (Science with Biology) – 40% weightage
• HSLC Marks – 20% weightage
• PAT Performance – 40% weightage

2. Structure of PAT (Personnel Assessment Test)

The PAT consists of subject-based and general knowledge questions. The topics covered include:

• Biology
• Physics
• Chemistry
• General Awareness (State and National issues)

3. Merit List Preparation

The final merit list is compiled based on the cumulative score from:

• HSSLC (Science with Biology) percentage
• HSLC percentage
• PAT score
