Here are the key decisions taken in the Assam Cabinet Meeting on May 16, 2025.
1. The Assam cabinet has approved 20 Bigahs of land to Amul to set up a State of the Art Poduct Diary Plant at Institute of Farm Manangement Campus, Rani.
- AMUL to set up a Dairy processing plant with a capacity of 1 lakh litres/day.
- This plant will benefit around Rs. 20,000 dairy farmers and is part o an MoU signed during Advantage Assam 2.0.
2. The Assam cabinet has approved the distribution of subsidized Masur Dal, Sugar and Salt to NFSA beneficiaries from October 2025.
- Each commodity will be provided in separate packets
- Post Govt subsidy, the final cost to the consumers will be-
- Masur Dal- Rs. 69
- Sugar- Rs. 38
- Salt- Rs. 10
3. The Assam Cabinet has approved 2 Proposals under IIPA to boost private investment and create more jobs.
- Total Investment- Rs. 47.98cr
- Job Opportunities- 1000 people (appx)
4. The Assam Cabinet has approved enchancement of monthly honorarium of 1,313 Part time ICT Instructor under Banikaanta Kakati Computer Literacy Programme.
- Caninet has allso approved extending a service guarantee for instructor until the age of 60 years.
- The ICT Employees will also be eligible for the MMLSAY (Mukhya mantri Lik Swvak Aarogya Yojana) along with the Apun Ghar and Apun Bhawan Schemes.
