Assam Cabinet Meeting 28 May 2025: The Assam Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, convened on 28 May, 2025, and took several important decisions aimed at inclusive development and welfare. The key highlights of the meeting include-

Assam Cabinet Meeting 28 May 2025
Here are the key decisions taken in the Assam Cabinet Meeting on May 28, 2025.
1. The Assam Cabinet has approved a special scheme for grant of Arms Licences to Original inhabitants and indigenous Indian citizens in vulnerable and remote areas of Assam.
2. The Assam Cabinet to boost skill education has approved Rs. 250 cr for the upgradation of 34 polytechnics and 43 Government ITIs into centers of Excellence in collaboration with Tata Technology Limited.
3. The Assam Cabinet has approved renaming the institutions after luminaries.
The Institutions are-
- Mangaldoi Stadium to be named as Raja Dharma Narayan Stadium.
- Sarusajai Sports Complex to be renamed as Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex.
- State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development to be renamed as Golap Borbora State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development, Asaam.
4. The Assam Cabinet has approved allotment of 900MW off-stream Pumped storage project in West Karbi Anglong.
5.The Assam Cabinet has approved relaxation in a admissible categories of land for cultivation for oil palm under National Mission on edible oils- oil palm (NMEO-OP).
The Cabinet has also approved cultivation of oil palm in other categories of land under NMEO-OP in addition to famers having Myadi Patta and Eksonia Patta Land benefiting farmers.
