1. Handing Over Case to CBI
The Cabinet has decided to transfer the investigation of the suspected suicide case of Late Joshita Das, Assistant Engineer (PWD, Bongaigaon), to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a detailed probe.
2. Extending Ambit Of Jiban Anuprerana Scheme
- The Jiban Anuprerana Scheme has been extended to include all full-time research scholars in Assam, including Divyang (disabled) students, enrolled in Central or State institutions on or after 1st April 2021.
- Around 10,000 scholars will now benefit from this scheme.
3. Support to Swajal Mitras
The Cabinet has approved Rs. 5 lakh ex-gratia to be given to the families of SwaJal Mitras/Jal Sahayaks in case of their death while on duty.
4. Relief For JJM Contractors
The Cabinet has allowed the adjustment of Performance Guarantee amounts with the pending bills for contractors working under JJM schemes, helping ease their financial burden.
5. 24×7 Drinking Water in Badrapur
- To ensure clean water round the clock, the Cabinet approved the Badarpur Town Water Supply Scheme.
- The project will cost Rs. 49.588 crore and will provide 24×7 piped drinking water to the residents.

6. Allotment of Land Under Mission Basundhara 3.0
The Cabinet approved several land-related decisions:
- 299 proposals converted from Annual Patta to Periodic Patta in 8 districts.
- Land allotted for 10 major infrastructure projects.
- 118 proposals for land reclassification approved in Dibrugarh.
- 190 land transfers to non-individual (legal) entities in 7 districts.
- Land given to 1,742 indigenous landless families in Dhemaji.
7. Land Settlememnt of Indigenous Communities
The Cabinet approved land rights for certain communities in the Tirap Tribal Belt who have been living there since before 2011. These communities include:
- Ahom, Koch Rajbongshi, Matak, Moran, Chutia, Gorkha, Tea Garden and Adivasi communities.
8. LiDAR Surveys for Guwahati and Son
The Cabinet approved LiDAR surveys to improve planning and development:
- In Guwahati, 328 sq. km will be surveyed to help with roads, drains, transformers, and GIS mapping.
- In Sonai (Cachar district), 147 sq. km will be surveyed for irrigation projects, including mapping of canals, catchment areas, and headwork planning.
