Assam Cabinet Meeting 4 April 2025
Here are the key decisions taken in the Assam Cabinet Meeting on April 4, 2025.
1. The Assam cabinet has given the intergral role to the Koch Raj Bongshi community in Assam heritage.
The Assam Cabinet has directed the withdrawal of 28,000 cases pending against members of the community in Foreigners Tribunals.
2. The Cabinet has approved the sanction of Rs. 190 crore under the State Government Budget for the Free Drugs Service scheme.
3. A New Policy to Combat Human Trafficking and End Witch Hunting
The women and child development department will be the nodal agency for this policy.
4. The Cabinet has approved the establishment of the Assam Climate Centre to strengthen climate action efforts in urban areas.
5. Strengthening Nari Shakti– New working women’s hostel in Jagiroad.
A state-of-the-art hostel to accommodate 1,000 working women will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 142 crore.
6. Securing the Interests of the Chai Samuday
A management committee will be constituted to ensure the proper maintenance and smooth functioning of the Mahaprabhu Jagannath Community Hall-cum-Skill Centre.
7. The State Govt has approved Bihu Gift for State Government Employees
8. Citizen Participation Policy on Flood Mitigation
The Cabinet has approved the constitution of Local Embankment Monitoring and Flood Preparedness Committees.
9. Boosting Assamese and Other Languages
The Assam Cabinet has approved a proposal mandating that all government orders and office memorandums be issued in both Assamese and English. In the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Bodo will also be used alongside Assamese and English.
