The Directorate of Secondary Education of Assam has released the official notification of Centrally Sponsored National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme for the financial year 2025 – 2026.
NMMS Scholarships are awarded to the meritorious students studying as regular students in class 9 to 12 in a Government, Government-aided schools and whose parental income are not more than Rs. 3,50,000 per annum. Assam 2025 NMMS Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The Assam NMMS Scholarship 2025 must meet the eligibility criteria to apply for the scholarship NMMS 2025.
- Class 8 students in government, government-aided.
- Parental income should not exceed Rs. 3.5 lakh per annum.
- Must have secured at least 55% marks in Class 7 (relaxation of 5% for SC/ST students).
- Students of private schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and Sainik Schools are not eligible.

NMMS Selection Process
The selection process of NMMS as per the 2025 NMMS Exam is provided below.
- A written exam (MCQ) for NMMS Scholarship will be held on 15 Novembe 2025
- Question paper will be in Assamese and English
- OMR sheet will be in English only.
- Previous 5 years’ question papers are available in the ‘Bidyarthi’ app on Google Play Store.
- Children with disability will get extra time.
- There are 2 papers: Mental Ability Test (MAT), Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
