National Scholarship for ST Students 2025-26 Notification
Assam Pre-Matric & Post-Matric Scholarship for ST Students 2025: The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Governtment of Assam has released a National Scholarship Notification 2025 for ST students for both Pre Matric and Post matric students. As per the Notification, online applications are invited from both fresh and renewal students for the ST students studying in government or government-aided schools, colleges, universities, and technical/medical institutions with valid U-DISE/ AISHE/ NCVT codes.
The eligible students are encourage to apply for the Assam ST Scholarship 2025. The ST scholarship Assam 2025 apply date has began and the last date to apply for Assam Scholarship is on 25 Sept 2025.

National Scholarship for ST Students Eligibility
NSP Scholarship for ST Students 2025-26: To be eligible for the National Scholarship for ST students for both post matric and pre matric students need to fulfill certain criteria, as mentioned below:
Eligibility for Assam ST Pre Matric Scholarship 2025
- The student must belong to ST and be a resident of their respective State.
- Must be studying in a Government school or a school recognized by a Central or State education board.
- Family income should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh per year.
- Must have a bank account in a Scheduled Bank that is linked with Aadhaar and a mobile number.
- The student should not be receiving any other scholarship.
- Scholarship is given only once per class. If a student repeats a class, they won’t get the scholarship again for that class.
- Scholarship can be renewed only if the student is promoted to the next class.
Eligibility for Assam ST Post Matric Scholarship 2025
- The student must belong to a Scheduled Tribe (ST) and be a resident of their domicile state.
- Must have passed Matriculation, Higher Secondary, or any equivalent exam from a recognized board or university.
- Family income should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh per year from all sources.
- Must have a bank account in a Scheduled Bank, linked with Aadhaar and mobile number.
- Should not be receiving any other scholarship.
- Must be studying in recognized post-matric/post-secondary courses in any of the following institutions:
- Government colleges, universities, institutes
- Institutions of National Importance
- Central/State universities or autonomous colleges under UGC
- Deemed universities
- Private universities with ‘A’ grade accreditation (NAAC/NBA)
- Private professional institutes affiliated to recognized universities
- Government or government-aided schools/colleges for Class XI & XII
- State/UT-recognized diploma institutes
- NCVT-affiliated vocational training institutes
- Institutes approved by AICTE, MCI, or other regulatory/state bodies

How to Apply for National Scholarship for ST Students 2025-26?
As mentioned in the National Scholarship guidelines, eligible candidates are advised to register themselves on the online portal. To apply National Scholarship for ST Students for both pre matri and post matric candidates need to visit the National Scholarship Portal at https://scholarships.gov.in/. Follow the below-mentioned steps to complete the application process
- Go to the official website: https://scholarships.gov.in/
- Register as a new user (if not already registered).
- Download the NSP OTR App from Google Play Store.
- Complete Face Authentication to generate OTR number.
- Log in to the portal using your NSP ID and password.
- Select the appropriate scholarship scheme (Pre-Matric/Post-Matric for ST students).
- Fill in the required details in the application form.
- Upload necessary documents (Aadhaar, income certificate, caste certificate, bank passbook, etc.).
- Review the application and click Final Submit.
- Submit the form before 25th September 2025 and track your application status online.
