New Bodoland University Udalguri
The new campus of Bodoland University was supposed to be established in 2021 and become operational by 2022, has now been successfully completed. The campus was officially inaugurated on 13th August 2025 by the Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) in the presence of Prof. B L Ahuja, Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Subung Basumatary, Registrar, Bodoland University and many more dignitaries, academician, Principal and senior citizens, Students, Guardians.
During the 57th ABSU Annual Conference in 2025, the Assam government made a significant announcement alongside Union Minister Amit Shah. A new Bodoland University campus will be set up within BTR in Udalguri district. This initiative was announced to boost the development of the education and youth sector in the BTR region.
The students aspiring to pursue higher education at universities but unable to do so due to the distance from BTR and the high travel costs will now have the opportunity to study locally.

The newly inaugurated campus of Bodoland University will begin its first academic session (2025–26) with three departments – Political Science, Education, and Bodo.

Mode of Teaching
- Classes will initially be conducted at Udalguri College, and later the campus will be shifted to Dwifang.
- Courses will be taught by Guest Faculties in the initial phase until regular faculty recruitment is completed.
