IB Junior Intelligence Officer Grade II Notification 2025

The Intelligence Bureau (IB), Ministry of Home Affairs has officially released the IB JIO Tech Recruitment 2025 Notification. A total of 394 vacancies have been announced for this highly prestigious post. Candidates with a Diploma in Engineering, B.Sc. in relevant fields, or BCA are eligible to apply.

The selection process will be conducted in three stages – Online Exam, Skill Test, and Interview, and shortlisted candidates will be posted anywhere in India. The last date to submit online applications is 14 September 2025 at mha.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for IB JIO Recruitment 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:-

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must have any one of the following –

1. Diploma in Engineering (Electronics / Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Communication / Electrical & Electronics / IT / Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Computer Applications)
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Electronics / Computer Science / Physics / Mathematics)
3. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Applications

Age Limit:

• 18 – 27 years
  • SC/ST: +5 years
  • OBC: +3 years
  • Departmental candidates (with 3 years service): up to 40 years
  • Widows/Divorced Women: UR – 35 years, OBC – 38 years, SC/ST – 40 years
  • Ex-servicemen & meritorious sportspersons: As per Govt. norms

Salary

IB JIO Tech Salary: The salary for IB Junior Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Technical (JIO-II/Tech) is as follows:

• Pay Scale: Level-4 in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix (Rs.25,500 – Rs.81,100)
• Allowances: Admissible Central Government allowances
• Special Security Allowance (SSA): 20% of basic pay
• Other Benefits: Cash compensation in lieu of duty performed on holidays (up to 30 days)

Selection Process

The selection process for IB JIO Tech Recruitment 2025 will be conducted in three stages:

1. Tier-I: Online Exam (Objective type – 100 questions, 2 hours)
   • General Mental Ability: 25%
   • Technical Subject (based on qualification): 75%
   • Negative marking: 1.4 mark per wrong answer
   • Cut-off marks: UR – 35, OBC – 34, SC/ST – 33, EWS – 35
2. Tier-II: Skill Test (Practical/Technical nature) – 30 Marks
3. Tier-III: Interview/Personality Test – 20 Marks

Final selection will be based on combined performance in all three tiers, followed by document verification, character & antecedent check, and medical examination.
