Sahitya Akademi Bal Puraskar and Yuva Puraskar: The Sahitya Akademi, the esteemed National Academy of Letters in India, has officially announced the distinguished awardees of its prestigious honors on June 18, 2025. Under the leadership of President Sri Madhav Kaushik, the Executive Board revealed the names of 24 recipients of the Bal Sahitya Puraskar and 24 recipients of the Yuva Puraskar. This significant declaration brings attention to the remarkable literary achievements of these talented writers, emphasizing their invaluable contributions to the literary landscape.
The works were chosen through a meticulous process, wherein a panel of 3 experts in each relevant language made recommendations, strictly adhering to the prescribed rules and procedures set forth for this purpose.

Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2025
The Bal Sahitya Puraskar is an annual award established in 2010. It recognizes exceptional books by Indian authors published in the last five years. For the 2025 edition, books published from 2019 to 2023 were considered for evaluation.
Children’s literature vying for the award must exhibit exceptional literary achievements and meaningful contributions to their respective language and literature. The 24 winners representing different categories present captivating and diverse genres such as stories, novels, poetry, plays, and memoirs, designed to engage readers aged 9-16.

The Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar established in 2011 is an annual award that recognizes the literary achievements of young writers in Indian languages who are 35 years old or below. The Akademi has recently revealed the names of 24 winners in this category.
Note- There is no Yuva Puraskar in Dogri this year.
