Butterfly Museum at Ultapani

The BTR Government has established a unique museum called the Butterfly Museum cum Conservation & Research Centre. This museum showcases the various butterfly species, will be a key hub for their conservation, research, and education, raising awareness

The museum was inaugurated on 5th June 2025 during World Environment Day by the Hon’ble Minister, Shri Urkhao Gwra Brahma. Distinguished guests, including BTR CEM Shri Pramod Boro, Hon’ble MP Shri Joyanta Basumatary, MLA Shri Lawrence Islary, EM Shri Ranjit Basumatary, and other dignitaries, joined the opening ceremony.

This initiative provides visitors a chance to learn about the life cycle, habitat, and conservation of butterflies. It also promotes environmental protection and biodiversity preservation. Surrounded by the lush Ultapani Reserve Forest, the museum is an ideal destination for nature lovers, researchers, and eco-tourists.
