Sainik Schools in Assam 2023: Sainik School in India is a co-educational public school, established and managed by the Sainik Schools Society under the Ministry of Defence in the central government. There is only one Sainik School in Assam which is established in Goalpara district.

Sainik School Goalpara
Sainik School in Goalpara, Assam was established on 12 November 1964. Sainik School Goalpara is a residential school for both boys and girls students, providing Public School Education with the aim to prepare them to join defense services. The Sainik School is located on Goalpara-Matia-Dudhnoi road 18 Km away from Goalpara main town.

New Sainik Schools in Assam – 5 (Proposed)
Since there is only one Sainik School in Goalpara established in Assam state in 1964. Assam Govt understood the need of more Sainik schools, and have requested the Defense Minister Rajnath Singh for setting up five New Sainik Schools (NSS) in Assam in five different locations namely:
- Silchar
- Kokrajhar
- Golaghat
- Karbi Anglong
- Dhemaji

Sainik School in Bodoland 2024
Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) consists of four districts – Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, and Udalguri of Assam State. Till date, there is not a single Sainik School in BTR but there will be soon one in the Kokrajhar district.
Sainik School Kokrajhar: The Assam CM, Himanta Biswa Sharma has proposed to set up new Sainik School in Kokrajhar Bodoland but the same has not yet been approved by the Sainik School Society. Once the approved new sainik schools list is out where Kokrajhar is on the list then we’ll share it here.

About Sainik School
The Sainik Schools in India were founded to provide residential educational institutions for deserving intelligent boys and girls students from the rural areas of the country. Sainik Schools in India prepare the students academically, mentally, and physically for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Naval Academy (INA). There are a total of 33 Sainik Schools in India. Among them, only one Sainik School is established in the Goalpara district of Assam State.
The training given to the students in Sainik Schools influences shaping social attitudes and meaningful approaches to life in order to emerge as responsible citizens of India and leaders in different walks of life.

Sainik Schoool Admission 2024
Sainik School Admission 2024: The Sainik Schools offer admission at the level of Class 6 and Class 9. The Sainik School Admission is made through the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Exam (AISSEE).
The last Sainik school admission for the academic year 2023-24 application form started on 21 Oct 2022 to 30 Nov 2023. The AISSEE 2023 exam was conducted on 8 Jan 2023. For the Sainik School Admission 2024-25 for classes 6 and 9, the application form will start from Oct to Nov 2023, and the AISSEE – Sainik Schools Entrance Exam will be held around Jan 2024.
