Assam MBBS Admission Procedure 2025
Assam NEET UG Counselling 2025: The Director of Medical Education (DME), Assam has invited applications from eligible candidates for 1st Round Online Counselling for admission into the 1st year MBBS and BDS courses in the Government Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam. This counselling is exclusively for candidates who have qualified NEET-UG 2025 and are eligible under the Assam state quota.
Candidates will now participate in online registration, choice filling, and locking of preferences, followed by seat allotment and admission as per NEET-UG 2025 state merit rankings and document verification.
Online registration for the 1st round of Assam MBBS counselling 2025 will be open from 24 July to 29 July 2025 (till 11:55 PM). Candidates can fill their choices online from 30 July to 2 August 2025 (till 10:00 PM), and choices can be locked on 2 August 2025 between 5:00 PM and 11:55 PM. The seat allotment process will take place from 3 to 5 August 2025, and the result will be declared on 6 August 2025.

Assam MBBS Admission 2025 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for Assam NEET State Quota Counselling 2025, candidates must meet the following criteria:–
- The candidate must have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as the main subject.
- Candidate must qualify for the NEET UG with the minimum required percentile and are eligible under the Assam state quota merit list.
MBBS Admission for NRI in Assam
The Govt Medical Colleges of Assam also offer MBBS seats under the NRI (Non-Resident Indian) quota as per the guidelines set by the DME Assam and the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). These seats are specially reserved for NRI candidates or those sponsored by NRIs.
Candidates willing to apply for NRI/NRI sponsored quota for admission into MBBS course in Government Medical Colleges of Assam are directed to submit an application in the format available on the Directorate of Medical Education Official Website at dme.assam.gov.in

How to Register Online for Assam MBBS Counselling 2025?
Students who have qualified the NEET UG 2025 examination and are included in the Assam state quota merit list are eligible to apply for the 1st round of online counselling for admission into the 1st year MBBS and BDS courses in Government Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam. The online registration process will commence on 24 July 2025 and remain open until 29 July 2025.

Assam MBBS Admission: Category Change Instructions
Candidates who wish to change their reservation category must follow these steps:
- Download the prescribed application form from the official DME Assam website. The form will be available starting 5 July 2025.
- Submit the completed form along with all relevant supporting documents in person at the following address: Room No. 5, 2nd Floor, DME Office, Assam.
- The last date for submission is 11 July 2025, during official working hours only.
- Please note that applications sent via post or email will not be accepted under any circumstances.
- Candidates must ensure they collect an acknowledgement receipt at the time of submission as proof.
Assam MBBS Admission: Inclusion in State Merit List (for Outside Assam Schooling Candidates)
Candidates eligible under Clause 3(1)(c) of the admission rule (PRC holders of Assam who studied Class VII–XII outside Assam) can:
- Apply on plain paper with valid documents.
- Submit physically at the DME Office (Room No. 5) by 11th July 2025.
- No email/post applications accepted.
- Acknowledgement receipt is mandatory.
